getting started guide

Starting or continuing therapy is an important decision, and we at Up North Counseling want the process to feel supportive, safe, and simple.  Hopefully, after reading the steps below, you will feel ready to start your journey with Up North Counseling.

We serve adults and youth in the Gallatin Valley and beyond, which includes individuals seeking therapy on their own, those referred by a health provider, and those referred by the courts. Regardless of how you found us, whether you are meeting with us online or in person, we are excited to help you take that first step toward feeling better.

What to Expect in Your First Counseling Session

Your first therapy appointment will be approximately 55 minutes, and will give you and your therapist time to get to know one another and decide if the professional relationship is a good fit.  During this session, we will discuss your history, what prompted you to seek therapy, and the goals you would like to work on during our time together.

Up North Counseling accepts most major insurance carriers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, Allegiance, PacificSource, United and Medicaid/Medicare.
